"Country girl" outfit

I bought this skirt almost 10 years ago. It is country style  and what I like the most about it are the lovely knitted inserts. It was sold as a set with a knitted top that, honestly, I was not that happy about: in my opinion it was too short and too loose for this type of skirt. Anyway, I wore it with it. Have a look, here I am in this skirt and top in 2004

Then I got tired of this outfit and it has been collecting dust in my closet. I remembered this skirt now and as I like it very much I wanted to wear it again but differently. Its upper part design makes it difficult to find a suitable top. This time I decided to wear it with a Monsoon blouse embellished with beads. It didn't look good  with waist in the right place, looked kind of bulky. Then I pulled the skirt higher, fixed it with pins and used a textile belt from another outfit. Now I like the results, looks different and much more interesting than before.

In this outfit I feel like a peasant woman in the farm ready to harvest. Peaches are almost ready...

but grapes are still too small

With this outfit I wore just simple beads and a bag as accerories

  4. I like the pairing with the peasant top better than the short sleeved top. It is actually very sweet and perfect for a walk in the country side!

  16. Great styling. That belted peasant blouse and the snug elastic top of the skirt show off your little waist. The 'peasant' look is timeless.

  17. Lovely skirt, and I love it with both tops. I think the "original" top works well with it, and looks "up-to-date" now that crop tops are "in" again. :)

I have a very similar skirt, bought through ModCloth - folk style, with crochet details like yours, only in brownish tones. I don't think I showed it on the blog yet.
