Summer maxi dress and leaving for holiday

This dress is one of my favourite summer dresses. I bought it three years ago in London. The maxi length, the flowery print, its brightness, the colour palette that I really like - so many things to make it one of my favourites for summer. The dress has a very open back and very thin straps that leave shoulders and chest area also quite open. I like it but...

Wearing same dress three years ago in London. No bolero needed

I feel uncomfortable to wear it "that open" here in Nepal. The weather is just perfect here for such kind of a dress but then I get too much of wrong attention and too much wrong staring that make me feel like I'm naked. So, to make the dress more modest I wear a small openwork bolero over it. I like it this way too.

If on the previous photos I'm wearing flats, on the next photo there are wedges. I am not sure which variant is better...I think flats are after all...What is your opinion - flats or wedges with this dress?

On Sunday I'm leaving for holiday in Belarus and will stay there for almost two months. The journey is rather exhausting. I'm leaving Kathmandu in the afternoon to take a flight to Delhi. Then 10 hours awaiting in the transit area of the Delhi airport, almost for the whole night. After that - a 6 hours flight to Moscow. Then again I have to wait for the whole day to catch a night train to Polotsk. And finally, 45 hours after leaving my home in Kathmandu I will reach my destination.
I will not vanish from my blog, I am planning to blog regularly during my holidays too. See you soon.

  4. Olga, I can see why this dress is one of your favorites. It has everything a summer dress should have. It is colorful, floral, feminin and sexy. You look fantastic in it. Also with the bolero jacket. The small butterfly is wonderful.
I wish you a good trip, take care of you! And I look forward to hearing from you how you spent your time in your homeland.

  5. Very beautiful dress! Too bad you can't wear it without a bolero... I had no idea that people are so conservative in that part of the world :) Have a wonderful trip!

  8. That maxi dress is lovely, and the green a wonderful colour on you. Beautiful with and without the bolero (and I can totally understand your decision to use it - too much of the 'wrong' attention makes one too uncomfortable. I love the dress with the flats best. Wishing you a great holiday in Belarus!

  17. If ever there was a dress that says summer, this one does! So beautiful! I'm sorry you can't wear it as it was meant to be, but cultural differences are important. How beautiful it would be with an unlined peach or green shrunken blazer or linen bolero for a more formal look! Or perhaps a pashmina stitched into a permanent shrug. Pretty, though, as you are wearing it. And cute with the little hat!
Lucky you! Both sandals and wedges work, so you're set.
Have a safe trip, and we'll look forward to hearing from you when you can!

  22. I recently bought this type of dress for my wife and she absolutely loves it! The material is so comfortable and the print is so stylish. She looks so good in it! I'd definitely recommend this dress. The printed night suit for men and Women are really nice, and I'm sure it would make a great addition to anyone. It's a great way to express yourself without having to worry about too much fuss.
