New purchase: gem-stoned butterfly necklace

Multi-stoned butterfly necklace

When I was in Belarus one of the stones in my turquoise bracelet fell out and got lost of course. I was really pissed off and upset because I wore the bracelet just a few times and now this. Last week I went to one of the jewelry shops in Thamel to find out whether it is possible to fix. As I have suspected to find the stone of exactly same shade and size was not possible but anyway the guy managed to chose one very similar and put it the the hole. It took him around 15-20 min ro complete the work and costed me just 5$. The bracelet looks like new and among 10 other stones the new one doesn't look that much different. I am happy.
Anyway, while the master was doing his work I was bored and of course started to look around. And then I saw this beautiful necklace with a pendant in the shape of a butterfly with multi-coloured stones. Love from the first sight. After little bargaining I got the treasure in my possession.
There are five gemstones input the the pendant: green peridot, pink tourmaline, purple amethyst, yellow topaz and transparent-blue aquamarine. A few words about each of the stones.

Multi-stoned butterfly necklace

Peridot is the olive- or bottle-green coloured gem-quality olivine. It has a distinctive oily or greasy lustre. The Crusaders brought peridot to Europe in the Middle Ages, transporting stones from St.John's Island in the Red Sea, where it had been mined for over 3500 years.
Because of its variety of colours tourmaline is easily confused with many precious gems. This stone has the greatest colour range of all the gemstones: colourless, pink, green, blue, brown, and all kinds of intermediate shades. Although tourmaline had been used in the making of jewelry in the Middle and Far East for centuries it was not until the Dutch introduced the stone into Europe, around the year 1700, that tourmaline became widely known and admired. From about 1750 onward the stone became highly fashionable as a gemstone.

Amethyst derives its name (which comes from the Greek and means "without intoxication") from the idea that if an amulet made from this purple stone was worn to a celebration of a party the wearer would be protected from drunkennes. In early centuries it was also said to defend the wearer against thieves.
Topaz is also called the Gem of Love and is said to protect the wearer from any cooling in a relationship. This was the favoured stone of the Roman Emperor Hadrian. He always wore a talismanic ring in which was set a topaz inscribed with a Latin phrase stating that the Almighty would overrule nature.
And finally, aquamarine. Because of its colouring it has long been a favourite amulet for sailors at sea, protecting them from the many dangers of the ocean. If they are fishermen it is believed to help them obtain a good catch. It has also been called the Stone of the Seer and Mystic because it has a delicate tone in which "magicians can see visions".

So, what do you think about my "impulse purchase"?
