Mixing prints: horizontal with tartan

I bought this Benetton sweater last year during sale, it costed me 40% less of the original price. It is light and warm,  thanks to its complex composition: lana wool, mohair, angora, silk and lurex. You can't say that the sweater is exactly "stripy" but those horizontal ornaments do create that kind of effect.

Perhaps, the pattern makes me look a little wider than I am but still I love it. I wear the sweater with a checkered pleated skirt and I like how the way these prints look together.

A "guest" cat in my yard was watching my photo-session with his eyes half-closed. I suppose he was not happy that I interrupted his day sleep.

  1. What a beautiful feline visitor! I really like the pattern on the jumper with the check skirt too, they work well together. The horizontal stripe effect certainly doesn't make you look wider, you look as svelte as always, Olga! Glorious colours, and I love the heeled brogues. xxx

  15. I like the mix of pattern here. Plus these colors look great on you with your hair color. This sweater is beautiful and looks like it is intricate and well made. I love our shoes, I've been on the lookout for a pair like this myself! Gorgeous bag.

  16. You are so tiny that you can take this width with perfect ease! Patterns are perfect together, and you look great in purple! Just couldn't be better. Hope you're having a fun winter ... looks like you are!

  17. I would wear it myself! :) Love the details of the sweater - the way the sleeves attached to the main part (what do you call it?), this sort of "open" seam (my long sweater coat has a similar feature, I always enjoy it). Love your skirt and colored tights - fun-fun-fun! :) Shoes too! I think I used to have a very similar pair back in 90s - it's such a classic shape!
