Poncho over a layered dress

Another casual look today. A poncho over a layered dress. I have shown this poncho before and that time I wore it over a dress too, that was a knee-length knitted black dress. Today's dress is different: it is cotton, long with two layers and in polka dots. And to tell you honestly I find this variant much more interesting. The poncho creates another layer and its print mixed with those polka dots makes a really attractive combination.

Outfit in turquoise and brown

It is getting warmer here. Soon there will be no need for tights, sweaters and cardigans. But not yet...Today I'm showing you my new hand knitted cardigan in turquoise and brown. I like its loose knit and stripy pattern. It consists of 49% mohair and 32% wool, so it is quite warm.

Long-sided cardigan

I am not a big fan of a long-sided type of cardigan. But this one is such a beauty thanks to its amazing pattern that one can forgive it the long-sided part. The most popular way of wearing such cardigans is, obviously, by pairing it with pants. But my personal preference is to wear it over a dress or a skirt. I have shown the over-the-dress variant some time ago. And today I'm wearing it over a skirt.

Poncho style cardigan

The simplest and most common way to style a poncho cardigan is by wearing it over pants. But today I wanted to look more feminine and so I chose to combine it with a knitted dress instead. The cardigan's print reminds me of winter: besides the obvious deer and snowflakes, the horizontal patterns to me look like those that appear on windows after a frosty night.

Knitted mini dress and long cardigan

To tell you the truth I am not that good in identifying different shades of same colour. Do you know how many shades of red are there? 57 according to Wikipedia. Seriously? At best I can differ just a few. But there is Turkey Red, Venetian Red, Chilli Red and Fire Engine Red. There is Carmin, Crimson, Cardinal, Ruby and Lust. Are there really people who can differ one from another? I wonder. Anyway, I am wearing today two garments in two different shades of red: a knitted mini dress (marsala?) and a no buttons mohair cardigan (berry-red?).

How to style a long-sided cardigan

This cardigan belonged to my daughter. She bought it because of the beautiful pattern. But then, she didn't find anything to wear it with. And gave the cardigan to me. I tried different variations to style it: with pants, with skinnies, with pencil skirt, with mini skirt. And I was not happy with the result. Because of the cardigan's long sides any combination just didn't look right. Until I finally tried it with this knitted dress. Right length, right colour. Made for each others I guess.

Turquoise cardigan and my collection of cats

This woolen cardigan in bright turquoise colour I bought with 50% discount because of one missing button. I got rid of three lower buttons leaving only the three upper ones, making the cardigan kind of half-open. I like its bright colour and openwork details. But as it turned out its design is difficult to combine with anything (at least with anything that I have in possession): it's too short to wear with pants; it' too loose for layering or wearing with most of my skirts or dresses. Finally I tried this combination but still am not sure. What do you think about combining this cardigan with this skirt? How does it look to your eyes?
