Pleated cat skirt
Hello stylish ladies! Those of you who have been reading my blog for a while know that I am a cat woman: I love cats and have always had them around me. At the moment I have three cats living in my house. Besides, I like collecting cat-themed things including clothes. My friends are well aware of this weakness of mine and whenever they see something cat theme interesting they buy it for me. And this skirt I'm showing today is just that case: it was gifted to me. No need to say that I was amazed by it. Prints of different types of cats look really beautiful on the white satin surface of the skirt. I wore it for the first time on Valentine's day but guess what...my husband didn't notice cats at all until I pointed it to him...men...

Outfit in shades of purple
Hello stylish ladies! What is your favorite color? I have to confess that my love is the color of purple, in all its numerous shades. And my today's look, except for the bag and shoes, represents this love. To tell you the truth, it's not that often that I manage to find interesting pieces of clothing in my favorite colors. This lavender faux fur coat and the lilac corduroy skirt happen to be my recent purchases. To find a fur coat in such a color - it was just rare luck! And a skirt in lilac, you don't see it around that much, too. So, finding these two lovely pieces really made me happy. And I've been just waiting for suitable weather to be able to wear these newly bought things. And so, the day has come!

African jungles inspired outfit
Hello stylish ladies! My today's outfit is inspired by Photowall, a Swedish wall decor company that makes top-quality products to help you create a room of your dream. There you will find an unimaginable choice of designer wallpapers , wall murals, canvas prints, and posters. When I was contacted by the company and suggested to choose any product I wish, it turned out to be not an easy task for me because of the variety of designs they have to offer. I knew that I wanted a canvas print for my dining room and I browsed through hundreds of images: animals, landscapes, fantasy, movie posters, maps, arts, foods...I can't even remember all the themes they have. In the end, I decided on this Gorilla print. The image somehow appealed to me, I imagined this ape peeping through the greenery straight into our dining room. I liked his clever and slightly sad eyes. Besides, the print would match the room's walls color and the jungles behind the room's windows.

Cutwork felt maxi skirt
Hello stylish ladies! In today's outfit I'm featuring my new cutwork maxi skirt. This is definitely a skirt for colder days because it consists of two layers, where the first outer layer is made of fine felt with 50% wool in its composition. The second, inner layer of the skirt that can be seen through the cutwork is in mulberry color and that's why I chose to pair the skirt with a magenta-colored sweater. The cut of the skirt is very elegant and feminine and these are just the two qualities that I really appreciate.

Winter casual: sweater and skirt outfits
Hello stylish ladies! Today I want to show you two casual winter outfits featuring one sweater and two different skirts. Pairing a sweater with a skirt instead of jeans or trousers looks way more interesting and feminine in my opinion.
The sweater in these outfits is of medium length what makes it easier to style than, say, long or short ones. The main reason I bought this sweater was its color, mustard yellow. I really love this color and it's not that you see a sweater in such color that often. Besides the color I liked the texture of the sweater, it's kind of like waffles and looks very interesting.

Pleated silk maxi skirt semi-casual way
Perhaps some of you remember this skirt of mine. It is 100% silk and that was the main reason I bought this skirt. I am kind of a sucker for natural fabrics. However, I am not a big fan of pleats: first, they tend to make you look bigger in a certain part of your body; second, those pleats make it hard finding a good matching top for the skirt. So many things that I had tried with this skirt looked either weird, or silly, or awkward etc. Anyway, it IS possible to find a matching piece.

Lurex sweater and glass beads accessories
Showing off today my new French Connection lurex sweater. I bought it with 30% off so the price turned out quite affordable. The first thing that caught my attention was the sweater's knitting ornamentation. I also liked the colour and a little bit of metallic thread going through and making it more lovely.

Embroidered sleeves blouse
In my previous post I wore super wide pants and today the super wide sleeves are the main attraction of my look. Besides being that wide they are decorated with super beautiful embroidery. No doubt, that's these sleeves that make this blouse stand out.

Wonderland skirt
When I read Natalia's Wonderland post featuring a link-up inspired by the Alice in Wonderland famous book, straight away I remembered this skirt of mine. Somehow it gives me an impression of the kind of garment that someone from Wonderland could wear. And here I am showing off this skirt and taking part in the link up.

Styling ethnic vest
This ethnic vest I have shown on the blog already and today is yet another variation of wearing this cute little piece of clothing. This time I wore it over a purple cotton top paired with a floating maxi skirt in navy blue. I simply love this vest, such cute details and adorable print.

Magical jungle skirt
Hello everyone! It's almost summer, isn't it? And I hope the weather is nice and warm in your part of the world. Today I'm showing a very summery look with an open-shoulder top paired with a light pencil skirt. Usually such skirts have a slit at the back but this one has one at the front instead. There are also two pockets in the skirt but the most interesting part is the skirt's lovely print of course. It features some kind of magical jungle with a few animals hiding among the leaves.

Ethnic printed tunic
Hello everybody! It's been two weeks since my last post...I didn't notice it...how time flies, huh? Is it spring? Or is it age? Frustrating...Anyway, to my today's outfit...all in black-and-white which is not exactly my colour palette but the tunic's print brightens up the whole look. There are several patterns mixed together and the front and back of the tunic are absolutely different. Nevertheless all those prints look harmonious.

Patterned corduroy skirt
This vintage corduroy skirt from St.Michaels was found by my daughter in a charity shop in London and then given to me. Isn't it gorgeous? St Michael was a brand that was owned and used by Marks & Spencer from 1928 until 2000. The skirt's tag proudly says "made in the UK". I am in love with its pattern and colour palette.

Fringed poncho
What I'm wearing today is yet another poncho. Can't say that I am such a big fan of poncho style but somehow I ended up having several in my wardrobe. Couldn't resist a big cat's face on this particular one. It is made of thin acrylic and is good for slightly cool weather. Also there is a golden metallic thread incorporated into the fabric so it glitters slightly under the sun.

Casual maxi skirt
It's getting warmer and warmer here, no need for a coat or a jacket anymore, at least during day time. A very casual look today but brightened up with a lovely print of the skirt. The skirt was not bought anywhere but made from an old sari. Actually it was not old but rather useless: it turned out that the fabric was not that good for draping. And so, the sari ended up as a skirt...

Folk style in winter
On the 1 of every month Natalia from the In The Writer's Closet blog, along with her co-hosts Tina and Beate, feature a link up called Modish Matrons (Natalia gives an interesting explanation where the name of the link up came from). Each month one of the three ladies presents a theme that inspires her. The January's theme is Russian Winter Fairy Tale. And here is my interpretation of the theme.

What to wear at work: cracking office dress codes
*this is not a sponsored post
I am not a big fan of posts starting with "how to dress for..." or "what to wear to...". For me they seem rather disrespectful as if my readers are not smart enough to figure out themselves what to wear for a walk in the park or how to dress for a cocktail party. However, there is one area where one can indeed feel uncertain or confused about "what to" and "how to". I am talking about dressing at work. No one wants to provoke perplexity of one's colleagues or displease one's boss with inappropriate look. Everybody wants to look smart, fashionable and in accordance with environment - not underdressed or overdressed. And the line between "under", "over" and "appropriate" can be a very thin line indeed. Sometimes you are confused for yourself and sometimes it is your other half that is at a loss and asks you for help (happened with me many times). Browsing the net in search of the suitable "how to" and "what to" can be really time consuming...Besides, there are many incompetent advice-givers outthere nowadays, whose advice can I trust? So, no wonder when T.M.Lewin sent me their guidelines to work dressing I agreed to write a post featuring their graphic.

Pleated silk skirt and romantic blouse: my Christmas look
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Today I am showing what my Christmas celebration outfit was. It was a mixture of different styles: romantic chiffon blouse paired with a pleated silk maxi skirt and golden sporty boots and accessorized with Indian bag and colourful necklace.

Fur trimmed vest
My first kind of wintery look this season, thanks to the fur trimmed vest from Monsoon. I bought it in summer during major sale and so, instead of the original price of 80 something pounds I got it for 18£ only. Just couldn't leave this beauty to remain hanging there on the rails among other on-sale stuff.

Floral print skirt and blue accessories
Another summer outfit in the middle of Autumn. Still warm here but mornings and evenings are getting colder and soon it will not be possible to go sleeveless. But for now I can and I do. It was impossible not to fall in love with this skirt. I am such a sucker for floral prints especially for such beautiful as this one.
