Checkered shirt and African print skirt

My today's look is inspired by Stella Jean's Spring Summer 2015 collection which I liked tremendously. Bright and colourful African theme prints are paired with checkered shirts, football jerseys or polka dots. It was only her third proper showing and she is already known for her "wax-and-stripes" signature. Wax for the wax-resist prints she develops in Africa and her mother's native Haiti and stripes borrowed from her father's Italian-made shirts. The pairing of African prints and Italian stripes allows her to bring two cultures together to show they can coexist.

Indian designers: what to wear this summer

I guess not many of you are familiar with Indian designers. There are a lot of them who create not only ethnic Indian dresses but very interesting designs that can be worn by any woman anywhere in the world. Here are a few works by different Indian designers from the 2014 collections. The choice was made according to my personal liking, I would gladly wear any piece of the shown clothes.

I am not a big fun of bugs but this insect-inspired dresses by Jenjum Gadi do look appealing to me.

India has tremendously rich and varied textile traditions. Every technique has been practiced for centuries, with an instinctive sense of proportion, colour and harmony. Each of India’s states - and many of the villages within those states - has its own distinct designs and techniques with an instinctive sense of proportion, colour and harmony. These fabrics have been used for ethnic clothes for centuries but recently contemporary designers (and not only Indian) have shown interest in traditional textiles too and started using them in their creations. And now these vintage weaves fused with modern designs found their way on podiums and in fashionable boutiques. Here are a few examples.

Wedding dresses of Russian celebrities

There is a picturesque little place in South Russia near the Black Sea Coast where in the late 19th century a royal winery was founded. The place is called Abrau Durso and in June on the territory of the Abrau Durso factory an exhibition of the wedding dresses of Russian celebrities was organised. I want to show you a few of them. As you can see on the photos, not always the traditional white dress is chosen, many brides preferred different colours and unusual designs.

Beautiful handknit dresses

I am in love with these knitted clothes by a very talented Russian designer Anna Lesnikova. She creates different things like sweaters, coats, cardigans, dresses, skirts, jackets. I like her bright colours, interesting ideas and style. In Russia she is called "the Queen of knitwear" and she deserves this title.
