This dress I am wearing here seems to be one of those types that look really nice in reality but...mmm...not so good on photos. I mean look at me...I look one, or maybe even two, sizes bigger than I am. I don't know what is the matter: the pattern, the jersey fabric, the design or maybe combinations of all those. This dress is just not made for photo shoots. Anyway I wanted you to see it, It is light and comfy and I really like the pattern.
The photos were taken at the Garden of Dreams. It was my first visit there after the earthquake. Unfortunately some pavilions didn't evade damage and need serious restoration. Also one of the walls collapsed. Because of all this many pathways were closed. Still the place didn't loose its charm and I enjoyed my time there.
There were many playful chipmunks in the park.

Have a nice day!
The gardens are beautiful, I hope the damage to the walls and pavilions can be repaired.
ReplyDeleteI'm not seeing what you see about the dress adding inches - you look your usual sleek and elegant self, Olga, just as gorgeous as the backdrop! xxx
When we wear clothes that are loose and have a bold print, they can sometimes create an effect of being a size bigger than we really are, especially on photographs. Perhaps, it would wore a belt, it would make the dress less wide, but wearing a belt when it is really hot can be tiresome, unless it is a silk belt or made from some light fabric. However, to me you look lovely in this dress. When the weather is hot, loose clothes can really make us more comfortable.
ReplyDeleteThis garden looks enchanted, it is that beautiful. Sorry to hear it suffered damage but glad to hear this place hasn't lost its charm.
I'm with Curtise, I don't see added inches. I see a beautiful, geometric pattern that looks wonderful with the hat and is actually a lovely contrast against the greenery of the gardens. That's such a shame about the damage but the gardens still look beautiful. I love the photos of the waterlily and the bird of paradise flower.
ReplyDeleteI like your black and white geometric theme in this look!!! The dress looks very stylish on you :) and that hat really completes the look! !! I don't think the dress makes you look bigger, you look great in it!!! The garden looks enchanting and those chipmunks are adorable :)
ReplyDeleteAwww look at the sweet chipmunks! I would adore spending some time in such a place. I see now what you mean about the dress. Around the top, it hugs your gorgeous curves so well, lets them pop! The first shot especially is so wow for them. But then as it goes down and flairs out you disappear under there and it does create the illusion on largeness. But who cares, its so pretty and comfy and you look lovely in everything sweetie :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks perfect on you! I love how you match with your wedges :)
ReplyDeleteThose gardens are dreamy. I love those tiny squirrels, so different to the cheeky ones who steal the bird seed in our British gardens.
ReplyDeleteThat dress looks perfect to me. xxx
Lovely (you and the gardens!) I agree with my fellow posters about the dress. The whole ensemble just fits both you and the setting.
ReplyDeleteThe gardens are so beautiful , I truly hope the structural damage can be repaired. I love your dress and tend to agree with others I can,t really see it adding inches to your tiny frame, it is maybe just a little looser than you usually favour. Perfect with your hat for garden enjoyment.
ReplyDeleteThis is so good. I like it!

ReplyDeleteI hate when an outfit doesn't photograph how I'd hoped- it's frustrating! I think the dress is cute, though- and I love how flowy it is!
