Indian party outfit in red, golden and black

Three wedding parties during the last week. It is like this here: nothing for a couple of months and then suddenly several parties in a row. For the two parties I wore outfits that you have already seen - the "Indian Maharani" and the Anarkali dress. The third outfit is new. It is from the Indian brand Biba. Has the same name as the British fashion store of the 1960s and 70s. Anyway, nothing common between them. The Indian Biba name comes from the Punjabi word meaning "a young and pretty girl with sublime qualities". Actually it is the second my outfit from Biba, remember my "butterflies and dragonflies" summer dress? Also from Biba. I believe you will see more of this brand here as I like their creations very much. And I like their motto "I don't blend in. I stand out. I am Biba"

This evening outfit consists of four pieces: a skirt, a sleeveless tunic, a 3/4 sleeved long top with side slits and of course a dupatta (a shawl). I like the colour theme of this set - all red with a touch of golden and black.

I chose all the accessories in same colour palette: the earrings, rings, bracelets, bag and even shoes.

Hope you all are having a nice weekend!

  4. Olga, this is absolutely stunning! No one will miss such a beautiful lady! The embroidery is as rich as the colors, and the accessories you've picked complete and compliment the ensemble. What a treasured custom it is to wear traditional costumes to weddings!
Funny, but I've been to only ONE wedding in the whole 12 years living in the US :) Three parties in a week sounds like a lot of work to me! :))) I hope you had a wonderful time!

  5. Lots of people get confused with the Indian and iconic Brit vintage label, I often email ebay sellers to point them in the right direction! You look gorgeous, i love to see you in Indian garb, a stunning outfit on a beautiful woman. x

  16. Wow, what a gorgeous outfit. The colors are smashing on you!

I read a blogger once who bought a secondhand Biba item but thought it was from the fancy British store at first. I learned about the name that day!
