This is my second asymmetrical hem dress. The first one, with citruses and flowers all over it, I bought myself. And this navy blue one was given to me by my daughter. I used to wear it with a statement necklace and high heel shoes, the look being rather smart. But to tell you the truth I think that the dress worn on its own emphasises my hour-glass figure a bit too much.
And so, I tried another way of styling this dress, more casual and less emphasising so to say. Now it looks more like a skirt and a blouse combo. The blouse's print breaks the monotony of the navy blue and adds more interest to the dress.
I also added bright beaded necklace and earrings. The necklace is made from local Lokta paper (more about this type of jewelry here) and the earrings are from bamboo, they are very light. I like such simple jewelry made of natural materials, it is ideal for accessorizing any casual look.

I think the dress looks lovely either way, on its own with heels or with the shirt and sandals. I like it as a stand alone piece precisely because it shows off your fabulous figure! But adding the print shirt and funky jewellery definitely changes the vibe to a more casual one; you look great! xxx
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful outfits in such lovely shades of blue! I really love the vibrancy of the first outfit, but you're a knockout in that dress, it shows off your fab figure x
ReplyDeleteI think the vote is unanimous, the dress looks gorgeous both ways. Love the earring shot with the leaves too.
ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely either way. It does show of your figure when worn alone but that's no bad thing, is it? x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous earrings and well shot. Will have to steal the idea.
ReplyDeleteI love both ways. You always look gorgeous! Xo Jazzy Jack
I see you are wearing those stunning sandals again...and they match this dress perfectly...I like the dress styled both ways, that is with shirt and without.
ReplyDeleteThere is no such thing as too much emphasis of the hour glass figure...such figure is always to be accentuated.
You look gorgeous in blue! Love the dress either way. I think I understand what you mean by "showing too much" - though it doesn't seem like "too much" to me, but it is you who wears it and you want to feel comfortable and at ease to really enjoy your clothes (something I'm looking for in my outfits). You have an exquisite eye for jewelry! These are again glorious pieces - amazingly modest material, and such an effect! xxx
ReplyDeleteI love everything about your dress! The fact that it doubles like a skirt is amazing!

Оля, как тебе к лицу синий! Also, loving your hair style -- strait hair looks wonderful, and curly as well!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely top, and paired well with the pretty necklace. Adore those earrings and your shoes are very cool. You would certainly be turning heads wearing just the dress, your figure is amazing and wow, dear!! You are so gorgeous and so sweet! xoxo

I love the dress and the top you are wearing on it is very nice. I sometimes wear asymmetrical dresses too, especially in summer. The reason is that for me it is not very easy to match other clothes to them...

I find that your dress is delightful also without the top and with those beautiful red shoes!!
I must agree with everyone, your dress is so lovely on you because it does show your great figure bur still is great with the shirt. Those earrings are just wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWonderful dress, Olga, and both looks are so lovely. The shoes are fabulous too! Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday, xo.
ReplyDeleteThe dress on its own is already stunning! I love also the necklace you pair it with. Lovely look indeed!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dress ! Both looks lovely . I love everything in that look :) x
ReplyDeleteGreat dress and love the way you accessorized it!

You have a great figure so emphasize too much is not what I think of your look. It's a great dress on each own only very simple, on each own. I like more the layered look. The dress is transformed and so much more practical! The bamboo earrings are a great accessory to this look and give an ethnic touch to it along with necklace.
ReplyDeleteOLga, this is a lovely dress on you , shows off your figure and is very flattering. You also have a great collection of unique and pretty jewelry!
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up with Turning Heads Tuesday!

Looking grand, Olga, in your dress in all the ways you've styled it. You look like a noir film siren in the dress alone ... really lovely on you, this is a special photo among many great ones, I think. As always, you inspire.
ReplyDeleteLove it all! This outfit looks great on you. Have a wonderful day!
